The BEST way to make money without spending money is to get a job. There’s no way around it. All other forms of making money without spending money involves risk. Many are even earning $200k+ by having a regular 9-5 job. Which is great.
I know what everyone wants. Everyone wants to make a million dollars without risking anything and have it be easy. There are no free lunches. Only the select few can make millions of dollars without much work and that’s the ultra rich. The billionaires.
For the 99.99% of us, we should be working, saving, and investing as much money as we possibly can. To build wealth consistently and over the long haul to take care of our families and beyond. By working a regular 9-5 job and paid employment, i built my net worth up to $500k+.
I’m growing it even further, as well. A regular 9-5 is the best way to make money without spending money because it involves no monetary risk. It’s not guaranteed income, yes. However, it’s about as guaranteed income as it gets as long as you provide value and perform.
The goal is to be rich enough that you don’t need a regular 9-5 job, but rather be work optional. The other 8 ways, highlighted below, to make money without spending money is the way to do so. However, the foundation to build wealth with can be great through a 9-5 job.
No matter how much the TikTok influencers try to say it isn’t.

So then below are the actual concrete ways to make money without spending money. It’s always a good idea to gain more income without risking any money at all.
1) Get a Job
The foundation to make money without spending money is through a 9-5 job. Yes, there are some costs such as clothes, gas, bus fare, and the like. However, the costs are minimal that it’s almost nonexistent. A job is the best way to build wealth, especially in the beginning.
It takes money to make the big money in this world. Therefore, the start of any wealth building journey is by acquiring and having the money in the first place. Which is through a regular job. More people acquire their first $100k through a 9-5 than any other income source.
We can’t start from the top and start being a capitalist right out of the womb. Unfortunately, we have to put the time in and the dues in. Before we can use capital to our advantage to never need paid employment ever again.
I’m very happy to have built my wealth through paid employment for the past 8 years.
2) Make Money Without Spending Money: Sell a Service
Services are great because they don’t sell a physical product. The best service to sell in 2022 was consulting services. Companies were paying top dollar for consulting services. However, even simple services like lawn mowing or dog poop scooping is lucrative.
No one wants to cut grass in the hot sun, which is where the opportunistic entrepreneur comes in to charge top dollar to do the job no one else wants to do. I recently moved in April 2023 and paid $420 for 2.5 hours of work for moving services.
The movers don’t have to create another physical product to acquire the next sale. All they have to do is show up to the next job with the exact same equipment and they’ll make more money. No need to spend money on a factory or a distribution center.
Services are more lucrative than selling a product the more specialized the servie has to be. It’s a great way to make money without spending money.
3) Start a YouTube Channel
YouTube is getting more saturated by the day. However, although there’s more creators than ever on YouTube trying to capture the gold rush, high quality channels are still few and far in between. Only ~4% of YouTube channels have over 100k subscribers.
Creators are still early to YouTube, especially the *quality* creators. The creator economy is here to stay. Too many look at outdated models to make money and think a paid employment is the only way to go. It’s not. There’s a ton of ways to make money without spending money.
I personally am trying to leverage Twitter to earn more money and make my followers richer at the same time. Many people are hungry for knowledge and the ones who can deliver the knowledge in the most entertaining way will win at the end.
One of my regrets in college was not starting a YouTube channel. I can’t imagine how much further I would be along by now.
4) Be a Social Media Influencer
There’s a TON of ways to make more money as an influencer now because we are living in the age of social media. One of my friends clears $2k/mo passively by being on Instagram. He puts pictures of toys up in entertaining situations and somehow, that gained him 150k+ followers and growing.
There’s an infinite amount of opportunities now. TikTok, YouTube, Twitter, Instagram, Facebook, LinkedIn, and more. Millions of smart entrepreneurs are making money from social media websites and figuring out how to make money without spending money.
Consumers will always crave knowledge and entertainment. In 2008-2009, Steve Wynn explained that the clubs in his hotels were the only businesses that were growing in Las Vegas. Even during the worst recession in history, people were craving entertainment.
The creator economy is here to stay and it’s disrupting many industries that don’t adapt to it. That’s where we step in.
5) Affiliate Marketing
Affiliate marketing is selling other people’s products without taking on any of the production, employee, and overhead costs yourself. It’s a great way to make money without spending money because you don’t take any of the risks.
All you do give your friends and followers a great product or service and take a cut of the sale.
Many companies are wising up that consumers make buying decisions more from word of mouth than ever before. There are bad creators who do affiliate marketing just to make a quick buck. All of the social media influencers who took part in FTX come to mind.
However, there are great creators who recommend great products and services their followers benefit from. I personally benefitted from many of these recommendations myself. Affiliate marketing is a great way to create a win/win/win scenario for everyone involved.
Best of all? There’s no risk to you. It’s difficult to lose money by going through with affiliate marketing.
6) Sell Existing Assets
It could be clothes you haven’t worn in years that looks brand new. Or that shoe that you ordered but you haven’t worn in years. Whatever the case is, we all have assets in our house that we don’t use anymore. That’s money we already spent.
Selling existing assets is a great way to make money without spending money. I have a stack of books that I’ve been wanting to sell for the longest time. However, I haven’t had the chance to sell them so they’re still sitting in my apartment, in a box.
I estimate they are worth $150 – $250, all in. That’s a lot of money I could use towards my investments and savings! Too many don’t realize the answer to making more money is right in their homes but they just haven’t taken advantage of the opportunities.
Not only does it make you more money, but it declutters the space as well. Win/win.
7) Make Money Without Spending Money: Rent Your Cars Out
The sharing economy is here to stay. More people are earning money from renting out their houses, cars, and assets. More investors are renting out cars on Turo and making solid income while the car does the rest of the work. Anyone can make $1k – 2k/mo from renting their cars out.
Even more so during a busy weekend like Coachella. Renting out the assets you already own is a great way to make money without spending money. Especially more so because of how passive the income is. There is no point in owning assets, especially depreciating ones, if you don’t make money from it.
Some are even earning income renting out their cars and letting the renters pay for their monthly car bill. After 2 – 3 years, they own their car outright. Many are missing out on this opportunity because they think that houses are the only assets they can rent out.
That couldn’t be further from the truth. The sharing economy applies to more and more assets every day.
8) Freelance Your Skills
Skills are more in demand than ever before. Many jobs are on Fiverr or Upwork that freelancers can take advantage of. Instead of reinventing the wheel, people can utilize the skills they already have to help others who need their services.
It could be proofreading, tutoring, or anything in between. Freelancing is great for people who have a lot of time on their hands and want to make money without spending money. It’s an added bonus if the skills you learn from freelancing helps your current 9-5 and allows you to get promoted faster.
Starting this blog helped me improve my written communication skills, which are in high demand. Companies crave employees who are great at written communication because words is how ideas get bought. It’s helped me when I needed to write memos in my day jobs I’ve had.

9) Work as a Virtual Assistant
Virtual assistants are on the rise. With the explosion of work from home, flexible work environments are happening at a faster rate than ever before. What’s great about being a virtual assistant is that you choose your hours and are location independent.
Some virtual assistant opportunities do not require you to work during business hours. You can work during weekends to make extra money to supplement your income. There’s more opportunities to make money without spending money than ever before.
Business owners need virtual assistants because they need to outsource the day to day mundane tasks such as managing their calendars and email. I personally dislike managing email because it takes my time attention and focus away from focusing on the real projects that add value to my life.
There is absolutely nothing wrong with making extra income and many are sleeping on this opportunity.

I personally love making money without spending money because risking capital to make money is harder than risking nothing to make money. I started this blog as a way to make money without spending money and I also have my Twitter page to make money as well.
Also, I started a YouTube channel that I am looking to start as more time passes. There’s never been a better time to hustle. I’m hustling every day to help make my dreams of financial independence a reality. No matter what others say, income is the way to true wealth.
No matter how much the financial independence movement loves to say how saving and investing is the way to freedom, income is the true way to freedom. I’m always trying to increase my income every year by hustling and putting in the work.
This is on top of my investments and active income. Weekends are a great way to differentiate yourself from the crowd. While others are going on vacation, you’re putting in the time to elevate your life for your future family. Sacrifice is worth it.
Every weekend, I write on my blog and almost every day, I tweet on Twitter. After some time, I will spend time creating content on YouTube. Even though it’s exhausting to work even after working a 9-5, I’m fully supportive of my venture.
One day, my older self will thank me for my younger self for putting in the dues.

Making money by taking on risk and through investments is a good thing. However, there’s also a way to make money without spending money. Making more money is always a good thing. At some point, you have enough money to put to work that’ll pay for your entire life and then some.
Until then, it’s time to take advantage of the smart opportunities that are out there to make money without spending money. It’s time to take action and take control of your life. No one else is coming to save you and you are 100% in control to elevate your life even further.
I currently make $200k+ per year without spending a dime to gain that income and without accounting for investment income. And I’m still hungry to make more money until I reach financial security. That’s when work becomes optional and I will enjoy my life then.
Too many use their weekends to relax when they could be hustling to compete against others. Relaxing is great once in a while but it’s very expensive. I personally can’t relax if I’m not doing at least something on the weekends. I view creating a business as my hobby and a fun past time.
Making money is already fun. When you make even more money on top, it becomes even more fun. While others are happy getting paid $100k, you could be happy getting paid $100k and scheming to make $10k+ per year more.
That’s how the rich get richer and the poor get poorer.
